Filson Restoration Department Original Rugged Twill Tan Briefcase FRD
Filson's Restoration Department is known for bringing bags back from the brink of death testing the limits of the darning technique to provide a second life and this is a beautiful example of their skill. Three areas on the bag exhibit the reconstruction effort--the storm flap, the opposite pocket and one of the corners of the bag. The darning on the corner is as beautiful a repair as I have ever seen--it's a veritable solar system of stitching on the corner. It appears that some of the bridle leather body tabs have been replaced in the course of the repair, though one of the originals is still intact as documented in the photos. The zipper has also been replaced. This is an opportunity to own a unique, one-of-a-kind Filson briefcase.
